Quick verdict

Best for
Agencies · Shopify Brands · DTC Brands · Large Teams
Not ideal for
Ad reach and spend data only covers ads running in the EU and the UK, a consequence of Meta's disclosure scope, so it cannot answer spend questions about US-only advertisers.
Why it stands out
Combines store research, multi-network ad research, advertiser discovery and competitor email analysis in one workspace, replacing several single-purpose subscriptions.

Overview

TrendTrack consolidates four research jobs that ecommerce teams usually spread across separate subscriptions: finding stores worth studying, reverse-engineering their ad creative, identifying the Meta Pages behind those ads, and reading their email programme.

The Shops database is filterable on niche, country, traffic, growth, creation date and Shopify theme, with pre-built smart segments for common profiles. Any store opens into an analytics view covering traffic trend and visitor countries, technology stack with a change history, live ads over time, published products with best sellers, Trustpilot ratings and social follower growth. A Similar Shops view surfaces comparable stores from there, and saved views and folders keep research organised.

On the advertising side, the creative library spans the Meta, Google and TikTok ad libraries with filters on format, engagement, country, spend and days running, plus a reverse image search that finds visually similar ads from a screenshot. An Ad Rank indicator positions each creative against its peers. Per shop, a dedicated Meta view lays out the full ad history, top performers, media mix, landing-page distribution, ad copy and video transcripts, and testing timelines. Reach and spend come from Meta's own transparency reporting rather than a proprietary spend model, with a hard limitation TrendTrack states openly: those figures only exist for ads running in the EU and the UK.

BrandTracker turns a chosen competitor set into a watchlist refreshed every 24 hours across ads launched and live, email activity, traffic and product launches, with automated summaries of each brand's ad strategy. The Mail research includes both a cross-brand campaign library and per-store analysis of automated flows, sending cadence and campaign calendar with full design and copy.

The API and MCP endpoint add a programmatic research layer: an AI assistant can pull stores, ads, advertisers and emails in natural language rather than only through the TrendTrack interface. TrendTrack also publishes an official n8n template for REST or MCP workflows. API/MCP usage is credit-metered, and at least one recent public reviewer reports that AI queries can consume credits quickly.

Pricing deserves attention before purchase. Starter is deliberately a store-research plan: no ad library, no advertiser database, no API or MCP, and BrandTracker capped at two brands. Pro is the first tier with the ad and creative tooling most buyers associate with the product. Result browsing is credit-metered, with filter changes and additional result pages consuming allowance, so exploratory research can use credits even where a result category is labelled unlimited. A current official 2026 article confirms a functional free entry tier; the older Terms call it Lite, but current quotas are not published. No separate time-limited trial of the paid plans is documented.

Public third-party feedback is concentrated on Trustpilot, which showed 83 reviews at the research date. Most reviews are positive and several praise support responsiveness, while a small number raise concerns about API-credit consumption, plan clarity, billing or refunds. These are individual user reports rather than verified product facts.

  • Pinterest Ads Research

TrendTrack's official plan comparison enumerates its included ad libraries as Meta, Google and TikTok. Pros and cons

Pros

  • Combines store research, multi-network ad research, advertiser discovery and competitor email analysis in one workspace, replacing several single-purpose subscriptions.
  • Pro and Business include access to the Meta, Google and TikTok ad libraries in the same research workspace.
  • Reach and spend figures are pulled from Meta's ad transparency reporting rather than a proprietary estimate, and the vendor states the EU/UK scope limitation openly on the pricing page instead of burying it.
  • API and MCP access let Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini query TrendTrack data directly, and an official n8n template supports automated REST/MCP workflows.
  • Email research goes beyond a swipe file: per-store automated flows, sending cadence and a campaign calendar make it possible to reconstruct a competitor's lifecycle programme, not just admire a single email.
  • A free Chrome extension surfaces traffic, Shopify theme, installed apps and best sellers on any store visited, and saves ads seen on TikTok, Instagram or Facebook into folders, allowing real evaluation of the data before paying.

Cons

  • Ad reach and spend data only covers ads running in the EU and the UK, a consequence of Meta's disclosure scope, so it cannot answer spend questions about US-only advertisers.
  • The entry Starter plan excludes the ad library, the advertiser database and API/MCP access outright and caps BrandTracker at two brands, making it a store-research plan rather than a lighter version of the full product. Reaching the advertised core capability means starting at Pro.
  • Result browsing is credit-metered: every filter applied, value changed and next page consumes allowance, so 'Unlimited' entitlements are bounded in practice by how exploratory the research is.

Frequently asked questions

What is TrendTrack used for?
Competitive research for ecommerce. It is used to find Shopify stores that are scaling, analyse their traffic, technology and product catalogue, study the ads they are running across Meta, Google and TikTok, identify the Meta Pages spending behind those ads, and read the email campaigns and automated flows they send. A BrandTracker watchlist then monitors a chosen competitor set on a 24-hour refresh.
How much does TrendTrack cost?
The current self-serve plans are Starter at $59/month, Pro at $89/month and Business at $149/month. Annual billing is shown as $42, $63 and $105 per month respectively, which corresponds to $504, $756 and $1,260 for a full 12-month term. Business includes three seats and lists additional seats at $29/month; Enterprise is custom pricing. TrendTrack's Terms state that prices are in USD. Some localized marketing output has shown euro symbols, so verify checkout if locale-specific billing matters.
Which ad platforms does TrendTrack cover?
The pricing comparison lists Meta, Google and TikTok as the ad libraries included, on the Pro and Business plans only. Pinterest is not covered. Reach and spend figures come from Meta's ad transparency reporting and, per the vendor, exist only for ads running in the EU and the UK.
Can I connect my own Shopify store to TrendTrack?
TrendTrack is documented primarily as a tool for analysing external Shopify stores rather than as a merchant-side Shopify app. In the official sources reviewed for this research, no Shopify App Store merchant install or OAuth connection for analysing your own store was documented. Its Shopify relationship is mainly data coverage: store themes, apps, catalogues and competitive signals.
Can TrendTrack be queried from an AI assistant?
Yes, on plans that include API/MCP access. TrendTrack publishes an MCP endpoint for AI clients including Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini, and an official n8n template for automated REST or MCP workflows. Starter has no API/MCP access; Pro and higher tiers provide programmatic access according to the current pricing/docs.
How does the credit system work?
Result browsing is metered. According to the pricing page tooltips, each filter applied, each value changed and each additional page of results counts as one credit against the monthly allowance for Shops, Ads, Advertisers and Mail. The Terms of Service add that credits renew monthly or annually and that TrendTrack reserves the right to change how they are calculated or consumed.
What are TrendTrack's main limitations?
Three limitations matter most. Meta reach/spend data is geographically limited to EU/UK disclosure coverage. Starter does not include the ad library, advertiser database or API/MCP, so many of the headline research capabilities start at Pro. Finally, result browsing and API usage are credit-metered, so heavy exploratory or automated workflows can consume allowance quickly.
