At a glance
BigSpy is an advertising creative library. It crawls public ad inventory from ten networks — Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, Pangle, Google Ads/AdMob, YouTube, Pinterest, Yahoo and Unity Ads — and makes it searchable by keyword, country, language, ad format, engagement level, video duration, campaign objective and activity window. The company states coverage of more than 70 countries and 23 languages, with an ad database it describes as running past one billion creatives. Around that library sit a small number of analysis surfaces rather than a broad marketing suite.
The main workflow is creative discovery. You set filters first, then a keyword, because every search, filter change, sort and page turn counts as one query against your quota — a detail worth internalising, since the free tier allows only five per day. Results carry two proprietary signals: a Popularity score derived from how long an ad has run and how often it has been seen in the system, and an Impression value that BigSpy describes as an algorithmic exposure estimate rather than a true view count. Neither is a sales or revenue figure, which matters if you are comparing BigSpy against ad-spy tools built around store-level revenue estimates.
Three competitor-research views extend the library. Ad Pages finds advertiser pages and accounts, filtered by network, creation date, market and page-data ranges (page likes, followers, total ads, 30-day and 90-day ad counts), and each card carries a 90-day activity trend and the products the page promotes. Domain Analysis does the same for advertising domains, searchable by domain, promoted page or related app, returning creative counts, top-20 countries and recent activity. Landing pages are exposed on ad detail views. TikTok Picks and the TikTok Shop views cover TikTok creative and shop rankings.
Saving is handled by a Swipe File plus a Chrome extension. The extension adds a save button inside the Meta Ad Library, TikTok Organic, TikTok Creative Center and the TikTok Ad Library; saved ads land in a cloud library organised into boards, with tags, ratings and per-format filters, and creative assets can be downloaded against a daily quota. AI features are analytical: AI Smart Search, AI image and video analysis, and video copy recognition that transcribes the copy inside video ads. An 'AI Prompt' quota drives an ad creative prompt generator; BigSpy does not appear to generate finished creatives itself.
Pricing is where BigSpy is currently confusing. The pricing page sells four subscription plans — Starter at $69/month, Growth at $159/month (badged 'Recommended'), Scale at $399/month for five seats, and Ultimate at $499/month — with annual billing charged as a single 12-month total of $588, $1,428, $3,588 and $4,788 respectively. What plans actually buy is network coverage and quota. Starter is Facebook and Instagram only, with Charts, Page/Domain Analysis, Page/Domain Subscriptions and the TikTok Shop views visibly struck through. Growth adds Twitter/X, TikTok, Pangle, Google Ads and YouTube plus those locked modules. Only Ultimate unlocks all ten networks, and only Scale is multi-seat. Meanwhile the homepage still advertises an older grid — a free plan, a $149/month Pro plan and a custom VIP tier — and the help centre still describes plans named Basic, Pro, Group and VIP Enterprise. Third-party directories repeat the older $9 entry price. Treat the pricing page as authoritative.
There is a genuine free plan, granted automatically at registration: Facebook only, five queries and twenty saved ads per day. There is no free trial in the usual sense; the only trial documented is a paid three-day Pro trial for $1 that converts automatically to a paid subscription and is explicitly non-refundable. Payment is by card or Alipay. Subscriptions auto-renew, cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, and plans cannot be downgraded — you have to cancel and resubscribe after expiry. The refund policy is narrow: a full refund only within 24 hours of the first payment on an account, excluding renewals, upgrades and repurchases, with no refunds guaranteed for lack of use or dissatisfaction.
Reception is split by source. Capterra and GetApp show 4.8 out of 5 across roughly 2,485 reviews, with affordability, database size and multi-platform coverage the recurring praise and restrictive free access, imprecise filters and occasional stale data the recurring criticism. Trustpilot, on a much smaller sample of about 25 reviews, sits at 2.1 out of 5 with 84% one-star, dominated by billing complaints: charges after cancellation, refused refunds and unresponsive support. The volume gap makes the two hard to reconcile, but the billing and cancellation friction is consistent enough with the published refund terms to be worth planning around — cancel well before renewal, and expect no recourse after the 24-hour window.
BigSpy fits a media buyer or creative team that wants a large, cheap, multi-network creative reference library, particularly one that also needs mobile app and game inventory such as AdMob, Unity and Pangle. It is a weaker fit for anyone who needs store-level revenue estimates, Shopify product research, an API, or reporting they can hand to a client.

Creative Research
Core of the product: keyword, filter, sort and dedupe across the ad library, plus a Swipe File with boards, tags and ratings. · Filters include country, language, ad format, engagement bands, video duration, campaign objective and activity window; ads carry a Popularity score and an estimated Impression value.
Landing Page Spying
Landing Pages entitlement on every paid plan; Domain Analysis from Growth upward. · Domain Analysis searches advertising domains by domain info, promoted pages or related apps and returns creative counts, top countries and a 90-day activity trend. Ad detail views expose the promoted landing page.
Meta Ads Research
Facebook and Instagram from the entry paid plan upward; also the free tier's only network. · Dedicated Facebook Ad Spy product page, Facebook and Instagram listed in every paid plan's network row, and the Chrome extension saves directly from the Meta Ad Library.
Pinterest Ads Research
Ultimate plan only ($499/month). · Pinterest appears in the ten-network row of the Ultimate plan. The Starter, Growth and Scale plans enumerate their networks and Pinterest is absent from all three.
TikTok Ads Research
From the Growth plan upward; not included in Starter. · TikTok ad library, TikTok Picks and the TikTok Shop / TT Picks / TikTok Shop Charts views. Starter's network row is limited to Facebook and Instagram.
AI Analysis
AI Smart Search, AI image/video analysis and video copy recognition, all metered per plan. · Quotas run from 100 AI Smart Search runs per day and 100 video copy recognitions per month on Starter to 2,000 per day and 3,000 per month on Ultimate. A separate AI search tool for game and tool-app ads is published in the Toolbox.
Team Collaboration
Scale plan bundles 5 seats (1 owner, 4 members) with per-seat quotas; VIP Enterprise adds multi-account seats and simultaneous multi-device login. · Swipe File boards are shared inside the account, which is what multi-seat plans work against.
Product Tracking
Promote Product search mode in Ad Pages, promoted-product data on competitor cards, and the TikTok Shop / TT Picks / TikTok Shop Charts views from Growth upward. · Product data is attached to advertisers and TikTok Shop listings rather than to a standalone product database; the vendor also markets product-selection intelligence drawn from e-commerce sites.
